Your mailboxes are operated by myDC Cloud Services GmbH in Krems an der Donau: an Austrian company with no US parent corporation and legal venue in Austria. Your emails, calendars and contacts are held exclusively in our Austrian data centers – backups included. That leaves no question of a legal basis for data transfers to the US: your mail never leaves Austria.
The route into your mailbox is covered as well: every incoming message passes through IKARUS mail.security before it arrives – viruses and spam are cleared out before delivery, not later in your mail program. And every access route is TLS-encrypted, whether web client, ActiveSync or IMAP.

What is included in the entry price of €4.90 per account?
The entry price covers the Zimbra account in its smallest size and IKARUS mail.security (€1.95 per account), which belongs to every account. In the configurator you see both line items separately – which is why the base price shown there is lower than the entry price. Nothing hidden is added on top.
Where is my email stored?
Exclusively in our Austrian data centers – and that includes the backups. The operator is myDC Cloud Services GmbH in Krems an der Donau, an Austrian company with no US parent corporation, legal venue in Austria.
What is IKARUS mail.security?
Virus and spam protection from the Austrian security vendor IKARUS. The add-on belongs to every Zimbra account and, at €1.95 per account, is already contained in the entry price – so every mailbox is protected from the first day.
Does Zimbra work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Mail, calendars and contacts sync to your mobile devices via ActiveSync – on iOS and on Android. The web client is available in any browser on top of that.
Can we keep using the mail programs we know?
For email, yes: Zimbra speaks IMAP and SMTP, and every common program understands that. Calendars and contacts you connect via CalDAV and CardDAV. You work most completely in the web client, because mail, calendars, contacts and tasks sit side by side there – and because server-side filters, out-of-office replies and signatures apply regardless of the device anyway. If a particular program is set in stone at your company, we clarify up front what it can do.
How do our existing mailboxes get to you?
By IMAP migration: the mailboxes are taken over from the old system together with their folder structure, calendars and contacts follow as an export and import. The move can be staged – test accounts migrate first, then you switch the MX record of your domain, and from that moment on new mail lands in Austria.
Is there a setup fee or a minimum term?
No. Managed Zimbra Hosting comes without a setup fee and is cancellable monthly. For 2026, our price stability commitment applies on top of that.
Can we start small and grow later?
Yes. You book exactly as many accounts as you need and choose one of four sizes for each account. Billing is per account and month – your mail environment grows with your team.
