Larger configurations keep adding up just as linearly. For I/O-intensive workloads you choose NVMe instead of SSD – at €0.17 per GB.
Two kinds of backup
Back up to the myDataCenter.at data center – restore in your hands
The standard backup is available as an option: your cloud server is then backed up and kept for up to 7 days. Billing follows the storage booked for your server, at €25 per TB per month. Restores run in our cloud, and you run them yourself – 24/7, without a ticket, in place into the existing server, as a new cloud VM or as individual files. That typically takes minutes instead of hours, depending on the size of the backup.
Independently of that, you can book a Managed Proxmox Backup Server – also €25 per TB per month, but a different product with a different reference size: here 1 TB is a real datastore TB that you size yourself. It is your own datastore, with retention, verify jobs and replication in your hands. Its real purpose is the opposite direction – backups and replication from your own premises to us. In that case the data is encrypted on your side, with your own key, before it leaves your premises (zero-knowledge).

How does Server Vienna differ from Platform Vienna?
Server Vienna is the single, freely configurable cloud server from €13.70 per month. Platform Vienna is your own resource pool from €46.60 per month, in which you create and manage as many VMs as you like. Rule of thumb: one server or a few – Server Vienna; a small cloud of your own – Platform Vienna.
Can I change cores, RAM and storage later?
Yes, through a configuration upgrade in the customer area – from the upgrade onwards you pay the new values, calculated linearly. Two technical limits are worth knowing: storage can be enlarged but not shrunk (there is no safe way to shrink an existing file system), and whether a change to cores or RAM requires a restart of the VM depends on the guest operating system.
Is a public IPv4 address included in the price?
Yes. One public IPv4 address is a fixed part of every server, costs €5 per month and is included in every price we quote here – in the entry price of €13.70 just as much as in the examples. More than one address per server is not offered. If you want to connect several machines in private networks of your own and set the firewall rules yourself, Platform Vienna is the product for that.
How do I back up my cloud server?
There are two routes, and you can book them independently of each other. The standard backup is available as an option and keeps your server for up to 7 days; restores run in our cloud – carried out by you, without a ticket and around the clock, in place into the existing server, as a new cloud VM or as individual files. It is billed by the storage booked for your server, at €25 per TB per month. The Managed Proxmox Backup Server costs the same per TB, but means a real datastore TB that you size yourself – and it is a different product: your own datastore with retention and replication in your hands, intended above all as an offsite target for the Proxmox VE on your own premises. Zero-knowledge applies to that route – encrypted with your key before the data leaves your premises; it does not apply to the standard backup of your cloud servers.
Which operating systems can I install?
The common Linux distributions from our ready-made OS templates. Because this is a full KVM machine with its own kernel, you have full root access and can load your own kernel modules as well. For Windows or an ISO of your own, Platform Vienna is the product for that – there you install from your own image.
How available is my server – and what happens if a node fails?
Your disk does not sit in the machine that runs the VM, but on a Ceph cluster replicated across several nodes. If a node fails, your server starts on another node – on the same disk, with no data moved back. High availability applies to every VM, not only from a certain price tier upwards, and nothing is overbooked. Instead of promising you a number, we show our availability live: on the public status page, measured from our own monitoring history.
Is there a minimum term or a setup fee?
No. Server Vienna is cancellable monthly, there is no setup fee, and our price stability commitment applies for 2026.
Where is my data – and who has access?
Exclusively in Austria, and that includes the backups. The service is operated by myDC Cloud Services GmbH from Krems an der Donau – an Austrian company with no US parent company, under Austrian jurisdiction. When the contract ends, we delete your data.
