Our story
How a customer project became a company
In 2015 we set up our first servers. A customer with a global network of more than 70 sites wanted to consolidate and standardize its IT services in an Austrian data center. That project started our journey – and with every new customer the server farm grew.
In 2019, Robert Siedl, Sebastian Schremser, Hannes Strempfl, Johannes Zöhrer and René Bayer took over the cloud business of Siedl Networks in an asset deal and founded myDC Cloud Services GmbH in Krems an der Donau. Since then the five founders have run the company themselves – no corporate group behind them, no US parent.
What has carried us from the very beginning: European open-source technology, our own enterprise hardware in Austria and the conviction that you should keep control over your data.
Milestones
From the first installation to a sovereign SME cloud
2015
The first servers go live: a customer with more than 70 sites worldwide consolidates its IT services in an Austrian data center. From then on, the server farm grows steadily.
2019
The five founders take over the cloud business of Siedl Networks in an asset deal and found myDC Cloud Services GmbH in Krems an der Donau – the company behind the myDataCenter.at brand.
2020
The website with its integrated online shop goes live. A new fail-safe server and storage cluster doubles the compute capacity – built on open source, so it scales easily.
2022
Self-service in the Dashboard: servers, networks and managed services can be administered on your own. Automatic provisioning delivers orders at the click of a mouse.
2023
The public status page shows the availability of every service at any time. Managed Zimbra Hosting adds email and collaboration to the portfolio.
2024
Billing runs automatically and directly in the Dashboard – every invoice and payment at a glance. The website gets a new design.
2025
Awarded the Cyber Trust Austria Label, the Austrian seal of approval for cyber security. At the same time the reseller program starts: partners offer cloud services from Austria under their own brand.
2026
The Cyber Trust Austria seal of approval is successfully renewed for another year. Security is not a promise we make – it is an obligation we keep.

Your data stays in Austria. Exclusively.
Our data centers are located in Austria – and that is where your data stays, backups included. They are connected to two Austrian main internet exchanges over multiple redundant dark fiber routes.
All critical systems are built redundantly, and access is monitored by video around the clock and secured biometrically. When your contract ends, your data is deleted. And our availability is public: we show it live on the status page – measured from our own monitoring history.
